Terre Di San Vito Malbec Il Vescovo Organic Red Wine 75cl (ABV 13.5% Alcohol) | Award-Winning Italian Red Wine | 70% Malbec and 30% Cabernet Sauvignon | Steel Barrel-Aged for Over a Year

£29.99
  • 【 AWARD WINNING 】Our Italian wine is made with a mix of our Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec (IGT) grapes, for a complex and elegant blend that is rich and full-bodied. An incredibly tasty and generously balanced bottle of red wine that won 2 stars of excellence at the London 2015 Bellavita awards. It’s truly one of our best red wines!
  • 【 HOW OUR WINES ARE MADE 】The grapes which are hand cut, are vinified with a temperature-controlled fermentation. They undergo a long maceration period so the silky, sublime tannins, colour and aromas can be developed. We age this robust, limited edition wine in steel barrels for 12 months so the best red wine flavour can develop.
  • 【 AUTHENTIC ITALIAN WINE, TASTE & QUALITY 】We use traditional, Southern Italian methods for collecting our olives and grapes as well as in the making of our sundried tomatoes and vegetables marinated in olive oil. These Southern Italian methods really mean getting the staff and the whole family together: sisters, brothers, aunts, uncles and cousins – including the family from England (timing holidays to coincide with harvest time).
  • 【 TIPS ON CONSUMPTION 】Our red wine bottle can be opened as if there were no wax at all. Simply insert the corkscrew straight through the wax and pull out the cork as normal. On a hot day, our bottle of red wine can be served slightly chilled. Best chilled for 20 minutes before serving to enhance the flavour. Il Vescovo is well-suited to all meats, savoury sauces, game and cheese.
  • 【 WHY CHOOSE U 】Making the best red wine would not be possible without the Terre Di San Vito team and family. We strongly believe that you cannot make great produce without a great team and great passion. We believe this passion is what makes our products taste SO good.

What a bottle of red wine this is! Quite unique in taste but rather smooth and delicious. This is the first time that I have tried a bottle of red wine in this price range (£20 a bottle). And wow, what a difference it makes! I served this bottle chilled from the fridge with a delicious roast beef dinner. Serving it chilled allows for those more subtle undertones in the red wine to become more prominent. Hence, in my experience, you are able to fully enjoy the rich flavour of Terre Di San Vito Il Vescovo at its full extent. This is a beautiful mix of two famous red wine variations: 70% Malbec and 30% Cabaret Sauvignon. As mentioned, the texture is smooth and the taste is warming. It is clear that this isn't your average red wine, with the 1 year barrel aging the flavours are more intense. When paired with a platter of cheeses this red wine was also very very enjoyable. Really loved the unique presentation of this red wine, lovely wax top and cork. 5 stars and amazing in every way! Thank you for reading my honest review, I hope you found it helpful! :)

Now I could sit here and write an incredibly long-winded and pretentious review about this award-winning limited edition Organic Il Vescovo Red wine from Terre Di San Vito, but it doesn't need that as it speaks for itself both in quality and flavour. Produced from a 30-70 blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec (IGT) grapes that are hand-cut from the vine and are steel barrel-aged over 12 months, it drinks very well and is full of rich fruity flavour that goes down a treat. Makes for a great accompaniment to the warm summer evenings heading our way. It's not overpowering or bitter and the volume feels just right for this very drinkable red that can be enjoyed amongst friends both when dining or simply unwinding of an evening. In summary, It's a lovely red that is packed full of flavour and a wealth of knowledge and experience that doesn't disappoint. I highly recommend it.. Thanks for taking the time to read my review, I hope you found it helpful. All the best

Il Vescovo is an Italian red wine that is beautiful inside and out. The wax sealed bottle is stunning and would make a wonderful gift for a special occasion (if you can bear to part with a bottle as once you try it, you’ll definitely want more). I often buy red wine in the £15 - £20 price range and Il Vescovo is among the best that I have tasted. It is soft, smooth, fruity and so easy to drink. Made with a mixture of Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec (IGT) grapes, it is a perfectly balanced, rich and fruity red. You know it’s a special wine just from its appearance and the taste test does not disappoint. Very highly recommended.

First impressions were good, the bottle has a nice design and was well sealed but easy to open. Scent-wise it has an inviting smell with hints of fruit and floral tones. It is very drinkable and accompanied the food very well. I am not a particular connoisseur of Italian red wines but was pleasantly surprised by the taste. It's medium to full-bodied with fine-textured tannins, silken fruit and a long, elegant finish. It is a lovely tasting fruity, soft wine with no nasty aftertaste or bitternes.

From the scent alone you can tell that the quality is good. The taste is nice, smooth, not too dry or too sweet, and perfectly blended. The bottle is sealed with wax and has a cork, which is another indication of better quality. Can't complain.

A beautiful red wine (usually not a fan, prefer crisp white wine) that is aged for a year and is a mix of 70% malbe and 30% cabernet sauvignon. It went down well with a dinner of beef lasagna. I found it refreshing and enjoyable.

You can definitely appreciate this wine. So deliciously tasty. Rich in flavour and very easy to drink. Good balance of flavours. Easy to open, dont need to break a seal as it is wax. Really enjoyed it every drop of it. Highly recommended!
