This was my first foray into the exciting world of boxed wines, and I am rather pleasantly surprised.. After much reading of reviews and careful consideration, I decided upon this box of delights. Initially I thought it was allright and I felt I hadn't wasted my money, but I soon realised the wine is actually lovely! Delicious and perfectly balanced (for me) - this is my second box and my now "go to" wine. I would very much recommend. I don't normally write reviews but I have just had a glass and I thought the world should know about this Ruby nectar! On a trivial note, the opening provided for the tap is poorly placed. We took out the bag, used our old pal Stanley to cut a hole on the front bottom right corner instead, reinserted the bag and liberated the tap as the good lord intended.. much better. As a lady who's husband is teetotal, I partake in a red tipple alone, and I was so sick of wasting bottles, my desperation caused me to turn to boxed wines - but it took a lot to overcome my fear that I was sluming it.. If this is the slums, perhaps I am less sophisticated than I imagined- regardless, I am tipsy so I couldn't care less. Slainte ! Be brave, be box clever!

I don't like posh wine because after a certain price point I can't tell the difference, which is the same as throwing money away! Cheaish red wine for my low-carb diabetic/no medication diet suits me fine, and the 'tin' idea was so I didn't have to drink a whole bottle before it goes off. This suits me just fine and tastes much nicer than some supermarkets' cheap ranges. I shall be ordering more.
